Dr. Romika Dhar is a double board-certified General Adult and Geriatric psychiatrist.
She completed her General Adult Psychiatry Residency training at UAMS, Little Rock, AR . She then pursued Fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia , PA .
Prior to joining Comprehensive Psychiatric Services, she worked as Clinical faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Stanford University.
Dr. Dhar's practice focuses on both adult and geriatric populations, emphasizing a holistic approach to mental health. She is dedicated to understanding the unique challenges faced by older adults, including the interplay between physical health and mental well-being. Her expertise includes managing conditions such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders , trauma and stressor related disorders and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. She is skilled in various therapeutic modalities, including medication management and psychotherapy.
Dr. Dhar strives to create a compassionate and understanding environment for her patients . She is also passionate about serving the mental health needs of South Asian communities. Growing up in India, she gained firsthand insight into the cultural and social dynamics that shape mental health perceptions and experiences in this diverse population. She is committed to delivering culturally sensitive care by addressing intergenerational conflicts and acculturative stress.
