Sylvia Kim MD
Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist
Dr. Sylvia Kim is a board-certified psychiatrist with the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, specializing in general adult and geriatric psychiatry. She has worked with patients from diverse backgrounds in various settings including academic institutions, city/county hospitals, and the Veterans Administration Hospital. She completed her adult psychiatry residency training at New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City, where she served as a chief resident and received the Resident Leadership Award 4 consecutive years.
She then pursued additional fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Stanford University Medical Center.
She has expertise in treating a variety of psychiatric disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD and psychotic disorders in the adult and geriatric population. Her special interests include psychiatric illness associated with memory impairment and late life depression.
Dr. Kim strives to provide care for her patients with empathy and respect. She believes trust is essential in creating a supportive and therapeutic relationship. Dr. Kim is fluent in both English and Korean and welcomes patients from all different backgrounds.
